YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Align and Flow: A bit of alignment and a bit more flow. We move and breathe, taking time to pause and feel, observe and adjust. Mindful movement is coupled with breath, and longer holds in poses are complimented with active alignment cues. This class is suitable for students newer to yoga as well as experienced students interested in a lower intensity flow.

Find your Flow: A Vinyasa class that is an uplifting journey into the magic of yoga. You’ll move with your breath and the beats, you’ll sweat and you’ll go deep in an inspiring practice that nourishes the soul and invigorates the body building flexibility, strength and ultimately, inner stillness.

Gentle Flow: Gentle Yoga is perfect for seniors, or those recovering from an injury or suffer from chronic pain. Gentle postures are taught at a slow pace with attention to alignment and posture. The use of supportive props such as chairs, blocks, blankets, and straps are used to accommodate where you are, allowing you to find a safe and comfortable position. This class is wonderful for senior students who need the assistance of props.

Heated Vinyasa: This class offers a yoga sequence that links breath with movement but in a heated room.  Move fluidly through a strong Vinyasa practice at your own pace and the rhythm of your own breath.

Modifications are offered throughout the class so students may increase or decrease the intensity of the class depending on their abilities and personal practice. Our instructor will guide you through a series of asanas, or postures, that will build stamina, increase strength and improve stability, as well as providing a safe environment to practice finding mental and emotional calm while being challenged by the flowing movement from one posture to the next.

Morning Vinyasa Flow: Come wake up your body, settle your mind and find your breath in this all levels flowing practice. The class is designed to help you find foundational strength, freedom of movement and a connection to your breath so that you feel grounded, energized and will flow into the rest of your day.

Noon Yoga Flow: This class is an all levels, mid-day Vinyasa flow.  Come for some stretching and breathing, and leave a bit lighter than when you entered. This class is designed to get you in and out, and back to your desk, kids, errands, and other daily activities with a clear mind and strong body!

Power Flow: Power Flow uses a varying sequence of postures with an emphasis on strength, flexibility and flow. Students move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to the movements. This class allows the individual practitioner to modify or intensify postures as needed to create a healthy, balanced body.

Restorative: A Restorative yoga practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind. We use props to support the postures, while gently stretching and strengthening the body. It is a practice of deliberate stillness, requires no muscular effort and provides a time for BEING instead of DOING. This class is appropriate for students of all levels.

Restorative Aroma Yoga: A Restorative yoga practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind. We use props to support the postures, while gently stretching and strengthening the body. It is a practice of deliberate stillness, requires no muscular effort and provides a time for BEING instead of DOING. This class is enhanced by aromatherapy and applied therapeutic grade essential oils on the body in each posture. Leave feeling renewed and restored. This class is appropriate for students of all levels.

Slow Flow: This class has the feel of a typical Vinyasa class while slowing down the pace of the class. You will move mindfully, holding poses longer while building both strength and balance on the yoga mat. Enjoy slowing down, moving mindfully but powerfully, and breathing deeply.

Slow Flow and Let it Go: This practice combines the best of gentle Vinyasa and Restorative yoga and is all about self-care. We will begin with a slow flow, which will emphasize synchronizing breath and movement. Then we will transition into a quiet, meditative, floor-based practice where you will slow down, sink in and relax. Restorative yoga features the use of props to allow for total body support in simple, long-held poses. Restorative yoga allows the body to rest, supported by blankets, blocks or bolsters. Providing the body with physical support helps the body and mind to come into a state of relaxation. Students will practice deliberate stillness and conscious rest. As the body rests muscle tension begins to unravel, stress begins to melt away the mind begins to quiet, aiding the natural healing process of our bodies.
