Gina Barboza

Gina Barboza is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher, screenwriter, producer, and an MFA film student at Georgia State University. She completed her teacher training through My Vinyasa Practice (Austin, Texas) and is currently working towards achieving her 300 hour RYT. She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, and with the completion of 300 hours, she will add Yin Yoga, Restorative, and Chair Yoga.
While she's been practicing yoga over twenty years, it was during the making of her mental health documentary in 2017, in which she lost her father to cancer, that inspired her to stay more consistent with her yoga and meditation practice. With 2020 being one of the worst years in history, and mental health issues were at an all time high, being able to practice online helped her get through it and that empowered her to help others do the same. It was then she decided to get certified in yoga.
She is the mother of Sasha and Mariah, two beautiful young daughters, who are also in college. Through the 8 Limbs of Yoga, Gina constantly works on the limb of non attachment to help release years of generational patterns so her daughters and their generations to come can benefit.
Her mission as a yoga teacher and mental health advocate is to help others, see the benefits of their own practice, to take a breath, and mindfully connect to one’s self with compassion, empowerment, and love.
